Bus transportation to and from The Nysmith School is available. Please call our Admissions Office for bus stop locations in your neighborhood.

For families who live outside of Fairfax or Loudoun County, we offer free bus transportation if you are able to meet a Nysmith School bus on a regularly scheduled bus route.
Extended Care Program
Our Extended Care program is available during the regular Nysmith school year, and both morning and afternoon care are offered. Drop-in/as needed care is also offered. If you are running late, have a meeting scheduled, or need care for your child for any other reason, Extended Care is available to you for an hourly fee.
Extended Care does not operate on Federal Government holidays, when the Federal Government is closed due to inclement weather, or during summer break.
On days when Fairfax County schools and The Nysmith School are closed but the Federal Government is open, Extended Care operates on an 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. schedule.

School Lunch Program
The Nysmith School offers an optional school lunch program. Hot and cold entrees are always offered, as are vegetarian selections.
You may order online on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. Prices will vary depending upon your selection. The average cost is about $7.00 per meal.
Pizza Fridays are a special Nysmith lunchtime tradition and may be ordered directly through our Finance Office at a cost of $3 per meal.
Overnight Field Trips
While mandatory day trip costs are covered by tuition, lengthier trips are optional. The costs for overnight field trips vary based on the trip and are covered by parents.
Afternoon Clubs & Sports
The Nysmith School offers an amazing array of teacher-led extracurricular activities, virtually guaranteeing that a student at any grade level can find one or more outstanding opportunities. These activities refine social skills and promote a well-rounded and balanced lifestyle. They are also vital to the development of children, allowing them to both dig deeply into the activities that they already like and explore new possibilities.
Clubs & Sports are $10.00 per session, but payment for the entire year is due in advance. Most cost between $200 and $250, depending on the number of sessions. Activities are held after school from 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
