Nysmith is continuing the 2020-21 school year with a mix of in-person, virtual and hybrid classes:
–Children ages 3 to kindergarten are attending on-site classes five days a week.
–Students in 1st to 8th grade are taking in-person classes roughly every other day and participating in Distance Learning classes the other days.
–Families with children in any grade may choose to keep them home and do distance learning five days a week.
Our Extended Care program is available to children in all grades according to the on-site schedules. Preschool and Kindergarten students may receive extended care five days a week, while those in 1st-8th grade can do the same on the days they are on-site, based on the hybrid schedule that calls for Groups A and B to essentially alternate between in-person and Distance Learning classes.
There is no drop-in Extended Care, so parents must sign up in advance by contacting Gabrielle Silver at GSilver@nysmith.com or 703-713-3332, ext. 1046.
Round-trip transportation is typically available, but due to Covid-19 circumstances, bus service has been suspended for the 2020-21 school year.
