November 2024 – Nysmith Students Excel At NJCL Certamen Tournament
Students Earn Top Honors at Certamen
This past Saturday, two NJCL Certamen teams featuring Nysmith students achieved remarkable success, earning second place in their respective divisions!
- Novice Open – Featuring Penelope P. and Aria S., this team showcased their deep knowledge and quick thinking, securing a second-place finish in their tournament.
- Novice Competitive – Led by Hridhaan K., Nate L., and Parker S., this team demonstrated impressive skill and teamwork, also earning second place in their division.
Certamen, a fast-paced quiz competition focusing on Latin language, Roman history, mythology, and classical civilizations, requires extensive preparation and sharp reflexes. These students displayed outstanding dedication and expertise, competing against top teams with confidence and poise.
