May 2025 – Two Nysmith Students Headed To Worlds In FFL Competition
Headed to FIRST LEGO League Asia Pacific Championship
We’re thrilled to share that Nysmith students Sabrina J. and Sana M. have been invited to compete at the 2025 Asia Pacific Open Championship – FIRST LEGO League, taking place in Sydney, Australia this July. Representing the United States, they will join teams from over 50 countries in an international celebration of innovation, teamwork, and robotics.
Their path to this prestigious event began at the DC Regional FIRST LEGO League Challenge, where they earned the highest robot game score of the competition. They advanced to the VA-DC Championship (Division 2), where they were awarded the Judges Award for their outstanding robot design and innovative project work. Their impressive performance secured them a coveted invitation to the Asia Pacific Championship—an incredible achievement that reflects both technical skill and creative thinking.
