June 2021: Rising 8th Grader Wins National eCYBERMISSION Competition

Rising Nysmith 8th grader Varsha Gunda, in partnership with CQuestrator partner Veda Murthy, last week won the 19th Annual worldwide eCYBERMISSION competition by identifying the problem of increasing carbon emissions in their community due to urbanization burning of fossil fuels and cutting down trees. The web-based virtual event promotes self-discovery and enables students to recognize real-life applications of STEM. The winning teams were chosen from 20 national finalists which were selected from 1,300 squads that entered the competition and each team member of the victorious national team received a total of $10,000 (matured value) in U.S. E.E. savings bonds.
