February 2022: Short-handed History Bowl Team Wins Tourney, Qualifies For Nationals
Despite being down one player, Nysmith A emerged victorious in this past weekend’s online History Bowl Tournament to qualify to compete in the national competition. Congrats to championship team members Pierce Arora, Babiha Bakshi, Ariana Blake and Neil Ramarapu for their outstanding performance.
Honorable mention goes out to Nysmith B that won two matches and was close to defeating the runner-up team twice. The team includes Seven Lu, Jesse Telagathoti, Colin Stone and Yifei (Bob) Zhou.
Both teams will compete in the March 12 Virginia State Championship in Staunton, Va. They will hope to ride the momentum from this past weekend to capture the first state title in school history.
