April 2021: Nysmith Students Capture 1st Place in Virtual Science Olympiad

 

Students displayed their expertise in various STEM-related topics at the Annual Science Olympiad Division A competition held virtually earlier this month. The program challenges participants to improve their understanding in science, technology, engineering and math as they work in two-person teams to become experts in a particular subject.
A total of 11 Nysmith student teams finished among the leaders in the various categories, led by 4th graders Sophia Friedman and Gia Jagadesh who earned 1st place honors in the “Mission Possible” category.
