The Nysmith School is preparing for another wonderful summer filled with fun and learning. Beginning in June, children from ages 3 through 12 will have the opportunity to participate in our summer program.

Summer camp combines the traditional, loving atmosphere of Nysmith School with a curriculum that blends sports, music, arts and crafts, and academics.

Both the preschool and elementary summer camp programs are divided into two-week sessions. Preschool activities will focus on a variety of themes planned for each session. Activities are likely to include painting, arts and crafts, computer games, cooking, swimming, and educational games.

Swimming (weather permitting) is always a favorite activity. The pools provide certified lifeguards, and our dedicated staff will serve as additional chaperones to ensure safe water play and to offer some swimming instruction.

Our elementary children will enjoy free time as well as water games directed by our staff, and preschoolers will enjoy the shallow waters of the children’s pool. More experienced preschool swimmers will be escorted to and supervised in the shallow waters of the big pool.

For children involved in our extended day care, additional activities/classes will be offered. They may include photography, visits and hikes to local nature centers, cooking, arts and crafts, games of all kinds and visits to a retirement center.
