The 3rd Grade Renaissance Festival is at the end of the Renaissance Studies Unit. Students make their own paper chain-mail armor for the occasion. A large, green, Chinese style dragon is also made. The actual fair includes arts and crafts, storytelling, and plays involving the dragon and dressed up students. Students also watch other classes perform, learn the Maypole dance, and play human chess. It is a lovely way to culminate all their hard work and part of our Nysmith tradition.
