This web site is designed to tell you about our school. The challenge is that although we can provide you with information about our philosophy, curriculum, teachers, facility etc, the descriptions pale in comparison to the reality of seeing it for yourself. Almost without exception, visitors to the school comment on the warmth and positive energy of Nysmith. Students and faculty cheerfully relate to one another and seem genuinely delighted to be here working together and sharing this educational adventure. Some staff and students travel quite some distance to get here, but they cannot find any school that fits them as well elsewhere. We realize that Nysmith is not logistically convenient for everyone, but if there is a chance that the logistical challenges can be overcome, please call us to make an appointment to see the school. Both personal tours and group tours are held on normal school days to allow you to see how our philosophy is translated into a variety of teaching methods and activities.

We recommend you schedule a Personal Tour with one of the Directors to see Nysmith School and have all your questions answered.

A Personal Tour will provide you with the best opportunity to see our classes and facility and to talk directly with the people who know the most about Nysmith School. Personal tours may allow time for discussions with teachers and students in many different classrooms. You can also address specific questions you may have as you explore whether Nysmith is the right placement for your child.

If you prefer, you may attend our monthly Open House which is next scheduled for  September 30, 2008 tour at 9:00am. This is a casual, relaxed tour with other interested parents during the school day.
