With over 620 students with abilities in many areas, our goal is to provide a program which challenges and interests all of the children.

While we emphasize fun and excitement and are proud of our students' achievements, we are not an exclusive, academically accelerated program reserved for super achievers.

We are dedicated to maximizing learning and individual growth, and assisting students in their development of positive self-images.

Our students are high achievers in many areas:

2000/2001/2002/2003/2004/2005/2006/2007/2008/2009/2010 IOWA Standardized Testing Top 1% Nationally.

(9) eighth graders scored as high on the SAT as the average college bound high school senior.

Top 10% (highest award) in National Math Olympiad Competition.

Nysmith graduates are offered enrollment at the finest national schools with a significant number attending Thomas Jefferson.

(8) sixth graders received awards for their score on the National Latin Exam.

Third place in National Wordmaster Competition fifth grade.

(8) fifth graders had perfect scores in the Wordmaster National Competition.
