Nysmith Alumni
We are very proud of our Esteemed Alumni

We are always happy to hear from our Nysmith alumni and appreciate when they take the time to visit us. Our alumni are our best representatives; they have accomplished so much in their high schools and their colleges and universities. We are grateful that so many take the time to email or visit us and we invite all alumni to register their news and information on this site to help us reach you.

Nysmith alumni are currently attending Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, Episcopal, Madeira, Foxcroft, National Cathedral School, Landon, St. Pauls, Lawrenceville, Phillips Exeter, Durham Academy, Bullis, Sidwell Friends, Flint Hill, Emma Willard, the George School, and Wakefield. Many others are in Fairfax, Falls Church, Loudoun County, and Prince William County Schools taking AP courses or following the IB or Cambridge Programs for advanced students. After high school, Nysmith graduates have attended schools around the country, including UVA, Virginia Tech, MIT, USC, SUNY, Brandeis, Dartmouth, Brown, Mary Washington, George Mason, the Air Force Academy, University of Saint Louis, and Rensselaer.

These students tell us that they were thoroughly prepared during their Nysmith years to become successful students at higher levels. They frequently report that their writing skills were among the top in their classes, along with their math and science backgrounds. They return to visit because they still feel a part of the family here, maintaining close relationships with teachers and staff. This relationship forged between those who love to learn and those who love to teach helps to nurture a life-long love of the learning process. For many students, Nysmith is the start of an exciting journey of discovery of themselves and the wider world. We are proud to have contributed to their educational quest.
