Our faculty is diverse, and brings extensive experience in their field of study and education to their classrooms.
Nysmith currently employs close to 150 people. Teachers come to us from other private schools as well as public schools and frequently move some distance in order to work here.
We have two professional teachers in each classroom. Our teachers are able to teach exclusively in the disciplines they love the most. Our students greatly benefit from this passion.

Most master teachers at Nysmith began as co-teachers to learn “the Nysmith way” of presenting information and working with gifted students.
Our teacher-student ratios range from 1:7-1:10, depending on the age group, with two teachers per classroom to facilitate multiple lesson plans and learning at an individual pace.
Core curriculum subjects in grades 4-8 are taught by high school and college level teachers who have expertise in a particular subject area.
We strive to recruit the best teachers in the area who exude a love of teaching and children.
